Since we love the Brangus breed so much, we decided to start our own herd with something spectacular. On April 13, 2013, we purchased Miss Blanda 415X5 with an LTD bull calf from the TBBA Miss America Sale. We then purchased Ms Brinks Lead Gun 209R25-ET and Ms Brinks Backside 468P30 - ET in May 2013. Our Brangus cows are active donors sired by New Vision of Salacoa 209Y2, Stonewall of RRR 222W6, and Suhn's Foundation 331Z28. The collected embryos are implanted in our high quality recipients in our selective commercial herd specifically selected for our ET program. This breeding season, we are expecting 50 pregnant cows with these embryos and anticipate a fabulous production!
According to the International Brangus Breeders Association, "The Brangus breed was developed to utilize the superior traits of Angus or Red Angus and Brahman or Zebu cattle. The combination of the two results in a breed that is superior to either original foundation parent breed. Angus and Red Angus are known for their superior carcass qualities and extremely functional females which excel in fertility. The Brahman and other Zebu breeds, through rigorous natural selection, have developed disease and pest resistance, overall hardiness, and maternal instincts unmatched by any breed. The Brangus cow is renowned for her outstanding maternal traits, and the Brangus bull is a popular choice of commercial producers, especially in areas of adverse environment."
